How do I apply RAID to external drive with dual drive bays?

I am reading but it says nothing about RAID. I want to mirror the drives so that one is the backup in case the primary fails. Can I do so? Should I do so? It is $184.00 at New Egg...is there a better drive/price combination? Your suggestions please.
Answer:
From what the sales screen says, it 'concatenates' the two drives to make it appear to your computer that it is a single drive. Calls it "JBOD Spanning".

"..upgrade with more spacious drives in the future" - I think this means if you have only one drive and add another, you might lose information on the first drive. Don't know for sure.
But I assume that if you have two 500 GB drives, and remove one and replace it with a 750 GB drive, you will lose all the data on the second drive, and possible the data on the first drive as the combination will have to be reformatted. Don't know where to find that information. Amazing they don't tell you if that will happen or not along with all the other wonderful information.
So you have no RAID ability at all. No mirror, no redundancy, no error-checking-and-correcting, no hotswap, no data repair, etc.
