Whoever wrote that is retarded. Sure, you can grab a 600GB Velociraptor for $300, but you can also grab a nice SSD (much larger than 60GB) for that price, too. Velociraptors aren't even that much faster than a good 7200rpm drive, like a WD Caviar Black.
Velociraptors are good for people who need better performance and higher capacity right around that price point. That's about it. For anything else they're a waste of money.
